million miles away! |
Getting to the Llŷn Peninsula: |
The A55 provides a quick and easy route
along the North Wales Coast
from Chester to Bangor and the M54
and A5 through the scenic heartland of North Wales gives the best route from the
motorway network in the Midlands and southern England. |
|
The western end of the
Cambrian Coast Line terminates at Pwllheli and runs east from here
through Abererch, Pen-y-Chain and Criccieth to Porthmadog.
Beyond that the line runs to Machynlleth and then either
inland to Shrewsbury or further down the coast to Aberystwyth.
Alternatively from the north of
England, catch the train to Bangor and then get the bus to Pwllheli.
Arriva Trains Wales runs
the train services to Pwllheli and you can plan your journey on their
website:
www.arrivatrainswales.co.uk or see the timetables in Pwllheli,
Criccieth or Porthmadog. |
|
There are frequent bus
services spreading right across the peninsula, most starting and
finishing in Pwllheli. You can see the latest bus
timetables on Gwynedd
Council's website -

|
Over the last couple of years,
cycle
routes have been set up across the peninsula, enabling people to get out
on their bikes
more and experience Llŷn in a
totally different way than
in a car.
The routes are signposted by small blue
signs with numbers in red
boxes - there are various routes to follow.
