Stings!

I have a personal phobia of anything that stings (including nettles!!). Here are some tips for when you get stung (not that I give myself the chance!):

On Llyn, the worst kind of sting you can usually get is a jellyfish sting. Under most circumstances, you just need to remove any tentacles with a stick or similar - then put vinegar on the sting. If no vinegar is available, the next best thing is urine (not joking!). Male urine is supposed to be best. On Portuguese man of war stings you need to get medical advice as soon as possible - though we don't get many (if any) on Llyn.
Weaver fish are quite common on Llyn's beaches, but do generally move away from people before they get anywhere near them. If you do happen to get stung by one, get the hottest water you can find and put your foot in it (it is usually your foot that gets stung).
If stings swell up and are painful for a time after the incident, then make sure you seek medical advice as soon as possible.

Mind out for these too!
