The rich insect-life provides a good
living for the reptiles of the area. Frogs, Newts and Toads
breed in the numerous farmyard ponds and marshy areas. Dry-stone
walls provide refuge and plenty of insects for Common Lizards
and Slowworms. The profuse amphibian population is good news for
the Grass Snake that is very common in the area. Adders are also
found in the sandy coastal areas and rocky heath-land.
