The weather has a dramatic affect on the landscape of Llŷn, not only
filling our streams and rivers with rainwater, but eroding the hills
and shaping our beaches by wind and wave power as well as creating
stunning views with sun and cloud combinations, including sunrises
over the mountains of mid-Wales and sunsets over the Irish Sea.The
landscape also has an affect on the weather though, our relatively
small hills are often only enough to create the odd bits of cloud out
of the prevailing south-westerly, and often moist airflow. In
contrast, the higher mountains of Snowdonia push the warm air
further up into the atmosphere and lead to the formation of rain
bearing clouds. Sometimes the hills along the peninsula trap the
cloud, often splitting the weather on Llŷn into two, between the north
and south coasts.
