Dinas
Dinlle lies to the northern extremity of Llŷn and at mid to low tide
has a large sandy beach which extends south from the mouth of the
Menai Straits. The small village has a cafe, pub, beach shop and
plenty of parking along the sea front.
Views from Dinas Dinlle range from the spectacular hills of Llŷn,
including Yr Eifl around Caernarfon Bay to Ynys Llanddwyn on the
south-western corner of Anglesey with Holyhead Mountain beyond. From
the car park in the village you have choice: head up to the small hill
fort (which rises to about 100ft) or walk along the long promenade.
The hill is quite steep if you choose to climb it, though the
promenade has a long concrete path, or alternatively, you can walk
along the beach. There is no set distance to walk. If you walk along
the beach towards the north you will come to the mouth of the Menai
Straits and care should be taken as the tide can cut people off and
there are very strong currents so be careful.
