The
Llŷn Peninsula has a very distinctive culture and way of life that is
a million miles away from the hustle and bustle that dominates many
lives today.
Welsh, or Cymraeg, is stronger in
this part of Wales than any other, with upwards of 80% of the
population speaking the language, and even higher percentages, nearly
100 in fact, for younger age groups, as they are taught Welsh in school.
It is also good to see a selection of
local produce on sale across the peninsula, from seafood to daily
essentials such as milk and butter. In our food and drink section, we
take a brief look at what's on offer.
There are also many traditions that
lie within the communities of the peninsula, some have survived better
than others. Explore them in our traditions site and let us know if
you think we can add any.
All in all, this section of the
Llyn.info Centre is a celebration of everything that makes the people
and lifestyle on Llŷn so special.
