Nestled high above the south coast of Llŷn,
behind Llanbedrog and Abersoch is the scattered community of
Mynytho.
The village enjoys excellent views from almost
all parts, with "the Foel" providing some of the area's best views
over Abersoch and Porth Neigwl/Hell's Mouth. "The Foel" is a small
rounded summit to the south west of the village, whilst to the north
is the more prominent Foel Tŵr as it is known locally, because of
it's disused windmill at the top (often referred to as the Jam Pot)
and views from here extend across Pwllheli to Snowdonia further
east.
The village has a small shop/post office and a
primary school with it's nearby park, picnic area and public toilets
at the foot of "the Foel".
