Clynnog Fawr, often just referred to as Clynnog,
has long been a resting point for pilgrims making their way to Ynys
Enlli/Bardsey Island at the tip of the peninsula.
These pilgrims would have taken refuge in the
village's large church, dedicated to St. Beuno - and many still make
the journey along the peninsula today, for many as part of a walking
holiday in the area.
Clynnog is nestled between the hills of Bwlch
Mawr and Caernarfon Bay and currently lies along the A499 between
Pwllheli and Caernarfon, however road improvements are underway
which will see Clynnog bypassed.
