Key to symbols...

Probably the most famous resort on the Llŷn Peninsula is Abersoch. The village lies towards the southern tip of the peninsula, and it's bay is sheltered by St. Tudwal's Islands. This makes it ideal for water sports of many kinds. The area has an active boating community, however, there is no large harbour or marina here. The harbour there is comprises two parts, the inner harbour, which is only accessible on very high tides for most boats. The outer harbour is accessible every high tide, but still dries out as the tide drops. Many boats are moored up in the bay as it is so calm.

The village has two beaches, both east facing, separated by the Penbennar headland, with the main beach to the south and the harbour beach to the north.

The village has a resident population smaller than that of even Aberdaron at a little under 1,000 - however, this must swell to at least double that figure during the high season. The village is the south-western terminus of the A499 giving the village good access from Pwllheli.

The village centre has a variety of shops, banks, cafes and restaurants. Free parking in the village is very limited indeed and high fees are charged on the car parks by the beach, and it is best to head for the village hall car park where the fee is not so high or the Bwlchtocyn end of the main beach for free parking outside of peak holiday periods.
