Abererch is a small village about a mile east of Pwllheli, set around the Afon Erch as it winds it's way to the sea.

The village has a small church and good bus links.

To the south of the main village, and to the south of the A497, is the train station on the Cambrian Line, running to Pwllheli in the west and Machynlleth and eventually Birmingham to the southeast. Near the train station is Abererch Sands Holiday Centre with chalets, caravans and tents. There is access to the beach that stretches from Pwllheli to the Pen-y-Chain headland, home to the Haven Holiday Camp.
