Croeso i Ganol Llyn - Welcome to Central Llyn

Central Llyn is the "heart" of the Welsh culture, language and way of life. Forget hustle and bustle, nothing like that exists here. This part of Llyn is ideal for people who like to get away from it all and enjoy miles of rolling countryside, and peace and quiet.

Carn Fadryn is the highest of a few hills that are in Central Llyn. It is only 371 metres high, yet gives some absolutely spectacular views over the whole of Llyn and miles beyond, to Snowdonia, Anglesey, the whole of Cardigan Bay and even the eastern mountains of Ireland on a clear day! The best path to follow starts in Garnfadryn village next to the chapel next to the 'phone box. On the summit is a very good example of a hill fort, one of many in North West Wales.

One of the largest villages in this region, Sarn Meyllteyrn has a small pottery shop and "The World Of Wood", which also has a shop. Llaniestyn is on the lower flank of Garn Fadryn, it boasts an attractive church dating back to the early 13th Century.

There are not really any other attractions in this area of Llyn, which makes it such a lovely peaceful place to visit!
