The Caerwylan is a friendly hotel and restaurant, situated in a
unique location on the East shore of Criccieth's Esplanade. The
hotel is a landmark Victorian building which faces south,
commanding stunning views over the main beach, Cardigan Bay and
towards the ruins of Criccieth Castle. The hotel probably enjoys
some of the best coastal views in North Wales.
Since 2007 we have renovated the property to a high standard, We
now have 24 individually designed en-suite bedrooms - choose
from Executive, Superior, Standard Plus or Standard bedrooms,
all with views of either the sea, mountains, castle or town.
We have created a tranquil, sea facing Lounge, serving morning
coffee, light lunches and afternoon teas, (during the summer
months you can also enjoy your lunch in our south facing
garden). A contemporary Bar stocks a wide range of spirits,
wines, lagers with keg and locally brewed beers.
In 2012 we opened our elegant Tonnau Restaurant with views of
the sea, castle and garden. The Tonnau is open to residents and
non residents for dinner seven days a week from 6 pm. from
Easter until early November. During the quieter winter months
the opening periods vary. Our Chefs use good, local suppliers as
much as possible and regularly change the menu. We are also open
for Sunday Lunch from noon until 2 pm every Sunday. Reservations
are recommended for dinner and Sunday Lunch on 01766 522547.
